Rhythm Ankara
Rhythm is the result of an approach that engages with urban life, aiming to elevate the architectural standards of Ankara’s built environment with both local and global impact, while offering a well-designed and aesthetically refined architectural complex to the city and its surroundings.
In the pre-modern era, public life was an organic extension of daily social practices, naturally unfolding in streets, squares, and marketplaces. Today, however, we observe a shift in public activity—from vibrant urban spaces such as parks and city squares to the air-conditioned interiors of shopping malls.
As in many cities around the world, public life in Ankara has been shaped and transformed over the years by pandemics, migration, and socio-economic and technological developments. This project focuses on these shifts in the evolution of public life, reinterpreting the city and urban living through envisioned life scenarios that explore how urban experience might unfold today and in the future.
For this reason, it is fair to say that the project’s public space configuration forms the backbone of its design decisions.

The four main plazas located along the “highline,” which forms the backbone of the master plan, define the formal arrangement of the building blocks consisting of commercial units.
The “Arcaded Plaza,” framed by the hotel and serviced residence blocks, is distinguished from the other plazas by being accessible to vehicular traffic.
At the center of the site, the “Sunken Plaza,” surrounded by residential blocks and developed on two different levels, is designed as a key node where all pedestrian pathways intersect. In addition to commercial activities, it serves as a place for relaxation and tranquility, supported by the surrounding greenery.

The expansive area allocated along the Ankara-Konya Road frontage is designed as the inviting “City Plaza.” This plaza hosts an open-air amphitheater suitable for performances and serves as the entrance to a performing arts center. The City Plaza also connects to a dedicated shopping street within the project site, linking directly to Tekstilciler Avenue.
Fueled by the potential activities at ground level and anchored by the performing arts center, the City Plaza is poised to become a major urban attraction.
Located amid the office buildings to the south of the site, the “Office Plaza” offers a more modest-scale social space designed specifically for office users and campus visitors, providing a contrast to the larger plazas elsewhere in the project.

Ölçek ve konum açısından proje sadece bir arazi parçası olarak değil, şehrin simgelerinden biri olarak ele alınıp kentsel tasarım kriterlerini göz önünde bulundurarak tasarlanmıştır.
