Galya Center

Galya Center is located in a prime position overlooking Yozgat Street—one of Ankara’s major arteries intersecting with the city ring road. With a total construction area of 86,000 m², the project comprises 210 residential units, 70 offices, and 113 commercial spaces distributed across 5 blocks. Designed to capitalize on the advantages of its location, the project aims to create a modern living environment by combining secure residential areas with an open-air shopping center. In doing so, it establishes a continuous 24-hour urban lifestyle. As a compact urban fragment, Galya Center is designed with a human scale in mind, offering a structure in which residential and commercial components complement and sustain one another.
Users are offered the opportunity to experience both pedestrian flow and the dynamics of urban activity through spaces that serve the natural rhythm of daily urban life—such as shopping, social interaction, dining, drinking, and event areas. A main plaza has been placed near the entrance of the project, functioning both as a welcoming space for visitors and as a symbolic meeting point that represents the identity of the development. This plaza continues as a pedestrian axis between the commercial units and opens out to another boulevard connected to the project site.
The ground level of the project consists of two main masses, offering an experience reminiscent of a traditional shopping street. Designed around a street-like layout, the open-air shopping center includes open, semi-open, and enclosed areas, providing users with a healthy and safe retail experience. Landscape elements further enhance and support pedestrian circulation. The office block is positioned at a corner that allows direct access from both Yozgat Street and the main street adjacent to the project site. This placement ensures that the office block remains separate from the residential units while maintaining a strong connection to the commercial units and urban life. Distinguished by its internal spatial coherence, the office block features a double façade composed of semi-transparent mesh elements and openings. While the project includes residential units above the commercial spaces, these residences are carefully designed with their own social zones, isolated from the high-traffic boulevards.
