Gölbaşı - İncek Commercial
The project is planned in the İncek area of Gölbaşı district in Ankara. This rapidly developing area brings with it increasing social and commercial needs along with new residential areas. In this context, the project has been approached with the idea of being a guiding focal Point for users, pioneering the new settlements around it.
The main objective of the commercial project is to meet the commercial needs arising from the rapid increase in residential areas in the vicinity with a holistic approach that also takes into account the landscape. In this regard, spatial designs that support shared use for shops have been created. Furthermore, the project aims to create a vibrant social environment where users gather, spend time, and create new memories, going beyond being a structure that merely meets food and beverage needs.
In line with this approach, the project aims to become part of daily life for those living in the neighborhood and a destination point on an Ankara scale. The space between the shops, which form the main artery of the project, is considered not only as a passageway but also as a place where users can stop, spend time, and socialize, thanks to the seating areas created between the two shops. This concept, which accommodates both circulation and social use at the same time, contributes significantly to the creation of the warm, friendly, and inviting atmosphere targeted in the project. By treating the masses at different heights, a more dynamic, lively, and inviting building concept was aimed for. The existing slope in the topography was considered one of the main inputs for the design; the building masses were stepped in harmony with the terrain to ensure a strong relationship with its surroundings. Thanks to this approach, the building offers an architectural language that draws users in and encourages public use.
The facade design incorporates both brick and stone cladding with curtain wall systems. These selected materials aim to give the building a warm and welcoming character while also creating a modern architectural language. Anticipating that the relationship between interior and exterior spaces in commercial areas would positively contribute to the use of commercial spaces, semi-open areas were designed to strengthen this relationship, and the facade concept was approached in a way that supports this approach.
As a result, this commercial project has been approached not only as a structure that meets commercial needs within the developing settlement fabric of the Gölbaşı İncek region of Ankara, but also as a focal point that guides its surroundings and supports social life. In the architectural design, the massing arrangement in harmony with the topography, the dynamic architectural language at different heights, and the warm and modern facade materials with a spatial organization that invites users were prioritized. The circulation areas, designed with social uses in mind, reinforce the intimate and lively atmosphere targeted in the project, while the holistic design approach aims to establish a strong connection between the building and its surroundings. In this regard, the project aims to be a quality meeting and living space for the residents of the area and the city of Ankara.
